I have pictures built up from my "Day in the Life..." project that I intended to do. I always seem to fail at the "update every day" type challenges that I set out on :C Ugh. Today will be an easy day, and for that I am glad. Natural Resource Policy at 12:30 and O chem at 5:00. In the mean time, I think I'll mount some pressed plants and do some ( Read more... )

pet moss for the win!
This is a pic of the one my gf and I made. It's from the top down but the jar is about a foot tall!

Your moss is GORGEOUS!!! I can only hope that mine blossoms into a big, earthy mess just like yours! Did you have any trouble getting yours to establish itself? I tried to use some slightly acidic soil where I found it growing and just tamped the mats on top of it. I've heard about using buttermilk...but I don't know. I'm so new to moss husbandry!

For ours we put lake stones in the bottom, soil from the area over that, and then the moss on top of that :) We've just been spritzing it with water on a regular basis. We even have little springtails living in there DAWWWW

D'awwww springtails <3 That sounds like such a wholesome little habitat you have going on. I hope mine does even half as well as your gorgeous moss-friend!
