 These third and fourth graders (one of which came up to me and asked if it was true we poured  sort of "sugar sauce" all over our pancakes in America) are so eager to get to know us students

yeah I'm really thankful i was placed in such a great school. the teachers have such respect for these students, it's cool.

Sounds like you're the cool American influence they've been looking for :-P...as long as they like you and you help them learn, sounds like a good experience...I wish I didn't have to wait til the Spring semester to teach!
