Oh this is just lovely!!!! I randomly like the idea of Kirk smoking.

I love this line, it's very Kirk:
Kirk’s chest tightens when he finally gets it. Spock’s not citing regulation, he’s... freaked out. I’m not going to die, he thinks. Not on you. “Three weeks ago, I threw myself off a moving drill for a guy I hardly knew. What makes you think I’d do anything less for you?”

This line. I love it so much. It's exactly the core of the Kirk/Spock relationship, and it's just lovely. I've really enjoyed reading this fic. <3

Loved this story from beginning to end. Kirk: "Maybe I am celebrating", Kirk giving Spock Sir Conan Doyle's book ... the subtle gestures of affection was wayyy too adorable. Great job!!
