...you know, I'd run into the retractable thing in a story recently, and I thought, okay - either this is another theory that's flying around out there, like the double-ridged thing, or it's some obscure piece of canon. How interesting to know that it's the latter!

(It also makes me pretty grateful that my sex scenes are never quite...detailed enough to get down to something as small as that, as it were, thus letting readers supplement whatever information they'd like. Er. Such as the above. I mean, they're detailed, but I'm not really into giving super-pr0n-y blow-by-blows like a lot of writers do. Er, not to insult those writers; I actually think it's amazing when you can pull that off and not sound like your entire goal was to write said pr0n [even when it might well have been].)

OMG, that's like that one fic where Spock has a retractable bone in his penis, and he's all like "What, you don't? But you're a mammal!" and Kirk is weirdly fascinated, while the audience is goes "...ew. Or, well. At least he has a penis?"

With the right writer that could be kind of hot, though. I might have a sort of not!humiliation kink? With Spock going "No, you won't like it, it's completely logical! And looks like a pussy" before realizing, wtf, this is Kirk, who is totally in thrall to his not!pussy.

OHGOD I just got this image of Spock being a tease and refusing to extend his penis and Kirk, like, have no fucking clue what to do about that. It's out of his vast realm of experience.

I have also wondered on several occasions if this retractable thing was true. I mean, it just always seemed like something that would *have* to be because it was just so bizarre and so many people seem to use it.

What I wanna know now, though, is *where* in canon does this come up? Cause...I don't remember it, which leads me to believe it's some crack from one of the novels, mayhaps.

...I just got the WEIRDEST sense of deja vu while typing this comment. o_o I think I'll stop now.
