Sagramore is standing quietly by the window in his room, looking down at the expanse of lawn and the forest to which it eventually gives way. He has two drinks in him, and his body wants more and his head has no explanation for the fact, and at the moment it bothers him enough that he isn't just shaking it off, as usual ( Read more... )

He's not seen Helen for awhile, most likely because Cyrano has professionally abducted her for his play. But she's used to quiet, and definitely not used to actors, so she's slipped away this afternoon to play hooky. Her hair's puled up from the back of her neck, and she's wearing a lightweight skirt; as previously mentioned, it's hot.

If she happens to knock, as we must assume she does, he immediately opens the door for her. "Ah, good afternoon, hello," in Hungarian.

"Hello. You don't have any Frenchmen hiding in the curtains, do you?"

"Ah, come in, come in, do come in," almost relieved. Company coming to him is more than welcome.

"Good afternoon," and Courfeyrac comes over to kiss him. He has abandoned his own clothes in favor of a T-shirt he found somewhere, because bleah, this weather.

This weather is awful. Sagramore kisses him gently, hands very light on his shoulders--it's too hot even for much physical contact. "How are you?"

Should Sagramore desire a more lighthearted distraction, one of the sights from the window may well be a young gentleman on a horse, roaring past at a quite remarkable speed. And should he not, it is certainly a sight easily enough ignored.

He watches for a while, and then, deciding that to go out is better than worrying, he hurries downstairs and out onto the lawn to stop Hadley-Bright. "Hey, a moment, a moment."

'Yes, sir?' he asks, surprised, but expertly pulling the horse to an abrupt stop.

He half-grins. "Would you permit a race?"
