Sometimes opportunities come out of totally wierd and unexpected places. I know thats lame, because obviously it means you have to sit around and wait for something to happen, but I think if you stop focusing on looking for a group to join, one will pop out at you. This is probably not the best advice for someone desperate, and I hate getting this advice too, but when I have followed it it has yielded better results than I had hoped for (or at least, SOMETHING instead of NOTHING) The trick is not to let yourself get discouraged and to keep just DOING, no matter what that something is. something that may sound lame now (like the writing thing) may turn into a gem and a really good thing.. so maybe try it ? if it's not cool then stop. if i can think of any other ideas i'll let u know. i'm really sorry :[ i know how hard you've been trying! eff nyu and their "we dont want anybody to feel a part of a community"
