I've decided to dip into my "don't touch this money unless you are buying a house or paying for your wedding" stash to pay off my credit card debt. What I really should do is just cut up my AmEx, but I like getting JetBlue points. Hmmm. I mean, I probably put like $700 a month towards paying off my card, but then I keep using it. I maybe charge $ ( Read more... )

WELL, if this is anything .. A week or so ago I was talking to Christine about post-grad, Paul, etc and she was talking about how she thinks she may want to stay in SLO because she doesn't want to continue distance with Paul and it's a comfort thing. BUT this isn't to say she's not down. Clearly her field is more prosperous in SF than SLO and it was just a conversation, not a decision. But just a random thought for you as I read this :)

I think you should move out when you can afford it. Sure, home is great but it's so exciting living on your own and I kind of think the struggle of 'making it on your own' is rewarding even if it's tough. The whole roomate situation is tricky though. But definitely, aim for a goal (like June) and just work towards that. Cut out some expenses, save a little more and bam :) You can do it! I saved up for this massive Africa trip basically only August through now, so I have faith you can do it. When will you know more about your possible extension w/ PC World?

also consider the expenses moving out... setting up your place is expensive, and i dont really know how much you brought back or shared in ny... but the living room, kitchen and bathroom take setting up, not to mention cleaning... all of which take tame, and it doesnt sound like you have much of that! (this coming from the person who stays at home for maybe 3 nights a year...)

i dunno im personally jealous of anyone with a nest egg at this point, and have extra income to kinda put aside, so id hang on to it for a little while... id wait a little while to see what happens in june with your internship (maybe it turns out, maybe theyll keep you and give you a raise?) and stuff like that.

on a completely separate note, im taking a nyc vacation at the end of june, and need advice as to what area to stay in. we're cheap, but not broke, if that makes sense... good luck! miss you!!!
