I'm Orthodox Christian, Jesus, GOd, Holy Trinity, etcetera, etcetera... Not Catholic though. I don't think you're a bad person, I don't judge people based on religion, or their beliefs, or non-beliefs in your case. I don't think it's religion that makes a person, its the person that makes the person.
For a while I considered becoming a Buddhists, it was an interesting time in life... I still consider it, actually. :) But I love my Jesus too much.
Haha, a lot of times people judge me on my Christianity, but I'm not ashamed of my religion, I'm proud of it. Just how you aren't ashamed of your atheism. When I was younger, I used to get atheism mixed with agnosticism. They're both considered non-religions, but agnostics believe in some kind of afterlife, a god of some sort, or higher power. Why am I rambling? :S
I believe in the beauty of the violent and the non-violent, the freedom given to us at birth no matter who we are, where we're born or what we look like, love and passion and compassion and desire, and truth. In everything.
I take different aspects of religion. But, a lot of it is a weapon and in a lot of senses it can be dangerous. But, as for your question, I just take different things from religion. I don't believe in the Christian God, or anything like that.
I believe in God. There have been times when I honestly haven't, because it felt like He was doing nothing for me, but I can honestly say that my entire family would be starving and cold if it wasn't for His miracles. Luck is God in disguise. But, as a side to that, I don't act like the good Christian I should. Yet, I still believe I'm going to Heaven. It's random. And weird. And don't even get me started on evolution vs. creation.

But I do struggle with a lot of things regarding my faith, especially the forgiveness, mercy & grace aspect of things.
