my computer is going into cuteness OVERLOAD.

you know what's not cute though? Naked, sixty year old Allen Ginsberg, which also comes up when you search Jack Kerouac.

Fashion Design Girls!!!: Ehhhh the fashion design girls as Syracuse are largely idiotic but that doesn't really play into this 'cause MOST girls at Syracuse are largely idiotic. The ones who AREN'T complete morons really enjoy what they're doing and are passionate about it and will....probably be making a lot more money than I will in the future, if they make a name for themselves. It seems like it's really fun and REALLY satisfying to see your clothes actually being modelled by real models walking down the runway (we have a biannual fashion show for the fashion department at SU and it's actually kind've cool, I've seen pictures and a friend of mine is one of the models ( ... )

wow andrew you kick ass for taking the time to write this. Yeah, all the negatives you mentioned are basically why I'm feeling torn. I've be drawn to illustration lately (no pun intended, really.) but whenever I ask question about it on college tours the two words "graphic novel" come up and all that makes me think of is like...mangas...which freak me the hell out.

And fashion - that's my problem. I don't want to be one of THOSE girls. I like to sew and sometimes I make really bizarre/cool things, but nothing I would consider to be overly fashionable. therein lies a problem.

Yo, be an illustrator. If you're really thinking about it, come to NYC some time this summer when I go down to the Society of Illustrators for Tuesday Night Figure Drawing and Jazz and you'll se just how epic it really is to be an illustrator and then we can go get drunk in Brooklyn and then drunkenly take the F train to my friend's apartment and wake up with tattoos of dolphins eating corn dogs on our faces go to museums and see the Society's illustration museum downstairs. You should also see some of my stuff in non-internet form so you can get an idea of what you'd be doing. A lot of illustrators DO work on graphic novels for shits and giggles but it shouldn't be the ONLY thing people talk about when you ask about illustration on a tour. If you want, I can check out your portfolio thus far too and let you know what you might need to have more of or whatever ( ... )

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAAHHAA Jake Laas is such a bastard for inventing that rule. I love it. I wish more people knew about it.

"ps? don't base what you wanna do off of the stereotypes you might think exist. anywhere you work there's gonna be people you like and people you hate."

This is very true and I should've articulated it.
