Hello again! My dad's running late again, so I thought I'd update y'all about my ongoing quest to return to the internet.
For your convenience, a recap of the story so far:
***Sunday***
My computer won't turn on. After much whining and hand-wringing, a long, screwdriver-laden call to tech support results in the realization that the RAM chips are no longer responding. Thanks to the magic of the Limited Warranty, though, a technician will be sent to repair it in a few days!
Up-to-the-minute online records of this day do not exist because my quest to return to the Internet on Day One was halted by:
1. The library is closed on Sunday.
2. There are no backup computers in the house.
3. The only-person-living-nearby-who-would-let-me-use-their-computer's computer is broken too.
So I spent the day drawing, taking naps, and playing with the dog.
***Monday***
Internet withdrawl symptoms intensify. Only solution: GET THYSELF TO THE LOCAL LIBRARY. Since car travel is not an option, I walk three miles in mild weather. No big deal. I spend about an hour reuniting with my online companions and partake in the library atmosphere. Hey, there's even a few new books to check out. At night, I watched cartoons and baked a truckload of cookies. Seriously, there's 60-plus of these chocolate almond chip monsters.
***Tuesday (Ongoing)***
The ever-helpful tech guys at Dell called today. Our repair technician will be arriving tomorrow morning, so with any luck I will be back online by this time tomorrow.
Encouraged by yesterday's experience, I walk three miles to the library again, with a twist: It's snowing this time!
Back in my day, we plowed through snowdrifts to get to the Internets!
It's busier today, full of people wishing to escape the bitter cold. Hey, I don't want to traverse the snow-covered pathways either. For tonight, I think I'm going to be stuck inside perfecting my Tai Chi form. I'll probably play with the dog too.
Until tomorrow, my f-list. <3
