I have been studying for my copyright final. I am very tired. I might decide to delete this post tomorrow, but I'll leave it up here for a few hours anyway ( Read more... )

ha ha ha, that's funny! I would have to say no infringement. But it would be an interesting test case. Even though I have actually no idea what you just said because my math skills just about come up to the level of getting 2 and 2 to equal 4.

Best of luck for your copyright final (and all others!). I'm sad that you didn't get to have Sprigman teach you copyright, but never mind. I handed in my dissertation paper this morning, in which I managed to reference Sprigman three times. I am proud!

Three exams to go and then I can graduate. Can't wait!

That's so cool, how you mentioned S three times. :) Oh, and that thing about your graduating soon is OK, too. :)

Would that count as derived work?

Not sure. A translation counts as derivative. Unwillingly, I find myself continuing to think about this. :)

And somewhere, in the vast intersection of law and mathematics (vast, I say!), are there arguments about derivative derivatives?
