When I was at TSE, there was this one time that I managed to fall before the other students had even gotten out of the training van. E, our trainer, told my classmates (all of whom were male): "When angie falls, she does it so gracefully! She just sort of rolls with it." One man said, "Huh! I didn't learn to do that until I went to paratrooper ( Read more... )

Oh ouch. I did that once, down a set of stairs to the subway. Now, Hester has taken to curving her head in front of my left knee, just to make sure that I've gotten the message that yes, I really should stop now. Hopefully, all will be well by the weekend.

Hi ANgie,
I had to give a little chuckle when I read your current post. I too had a similar experience a few weeks ago, but mine was inside. I didn't follow my dog and ended up on my side at the bottom of some four or five stairs. Poor Reggie walked down to check me out, and then promptly took a lick of my sandwich! Naughty pup. Of course, after that experience, I kept hearing my TSE instructor saying, "Julia, Follow your dog!"
Cheers,
Julia

I fell today too, and I don't have any good excuse! The steps in front of the SunTrust building on Main street get shorter and shorter and I thought I was on level ground but in fact the last "step" was a block of sidewalk only 1/2 inch taller than the one next too it. The whole thing is bright white granite or something, so there is no contrast. I put my foot down, turned my ankle and fell in front of 4 members of my law firm. At least I have nothing but a bruised knee and injured ego!
