Speed of Mac's voice
Sometime in less than a year, I'll probably be getting a new computer. (Please, laptop, please don't die before I finish law school!) I'm considering a Mac, but I'm lacking an essential piece of information. I listen to JAWS...at a very fast rate. The kind where you achieve true symbiosis, and you just marvel at the everyday beauty of it. Four Paws Pimple Ball Recall
I just read this on the germanshepherds comm. I also followed some of the links, and I'm feeling a bit ill now. If you have a Pimple Ball with Bell, or a similar toy made by Four Paws, the toys are being recalled. A Lab mix had to have his tongue amputated. You can read more at the entry linked above. I just received a mass email about training on the Optelec BC640, which is the bluetooth display I'd love to own one day. In fact, VR tried to order this display for me back when we started hearing about it in the summer of 2006. VR went so far as to pay for the thing (or at least to send an authorization to Vision Cue, the distributors for Optelec ( Read more... ) -
ETS and GRE accommodations
I was reading some back issues of the Braille Monitor (hey, it beats reading for class), and I found this. Apparently, ETS now realizes that most blind test-takers have a proven track record of accommoodations, and forms from doctors, etc., are not required if the accommodation request is "routine." It's positively gorgeous outside. It would be incredibly fun to take Yan on a nice long walk.
Except I just realized that Glaze ate two or three (probably three) bananas.
I will not be leaving home today.
