I just found out the first downside of amnesia; once you start remembering things, you feel like a ridiculous fool for ever forgetting them.

Case in point: In retrospect, it seems impossible that I ever forgot Fran. She made for a great partner, though now it's just slightly more irritating not knowing what she was a partner in. Didn't speak much

I do that enough as it is. I assume, then, that people regaining memories is a rare thing around here?

I've recovered but one memory, in nearly three months.

Yes, amnesia; it's frustrating, isn't it? A lot of seemingly impossible things happen around here though. This place forces one to re-evaluate their sense of disbelief.

It's been suspended for some time, I'd say, but that was enough to bring it back into focus.

I'm glad you remembered quickly, though. It doesn't happen too often.

So I've been told. It takes much longer usually, then?

Usually, yeah. I've been here for about three months, and I remembered things for the first time today.

And at the same time, as annoyed as I am about not recalling Fran, I imagine the same thing is going to happen once I realize what we were partnered together for.
