* Well, I returned from spring break to realize that I'm a little overwhelmed with work. The extra class is really starting to take its toll on me. The extra 40 pages of Kant to read each week is just destroying any type of scedule I may have had. Arg.

Apparently the Kant we know as punctual and living according to maxims didn't emerge until he turned 40. Before that he used to play billiards and cards to supplement his income, and would often come home so drunk that he couldn't find his street.
Also, in between finishing his undergraduate studies and submitting a dissertation in order to be recognized as a lecturer, Kant supported his family by working as a private tutor for wealthy families' children. One of these positions required Kant to live over 60 miles away from Konisberg. So it might be safe to say that, while he did refuse a position in Halle because he preferred to live in Konisberg, reports of Kant's aversion to travel are often exaggerated.

Don't really know any good Kant stories; I'm sure there's a good biography out there somewhere, though. The only thing I can think of is the fact everyone knows that he supposedly died a virgin.
