If it turns out that the election was stolen, what a bittersweet thing! We can have faith in Americans again, but we lose our democracy!

When I first read this I thought it was perfect, then I wondered if even with all the miscounting it would have still come out to something like 52/48 but perhaps in favour of Kerry, not Bush. Which still says to me that there is a nation divided almost in half over political issues (with a large portion who don't seem to care). Which is actually pretty normal in many democracies, even more so when there are literally only two real parties to choose from.

I agree that the vote counting system you have is ridiculous and seems designed to go wrong rather than to give an accurate record. I think there really needs to be some action taken to fix that. I'm in favour of pencil and paper ballots with human counters and scruntineers myself.
