Since I will be officially involved with students from this point on in my academic career and yet do not desire to discontinue my journal, I will be posting the majority of my musings in the future under the friends filter. Hello, we are strangers. I found you through spookythinking. I've read this piece of yours a few times. And I had planned on writing something in response, but my ignorance holds me back. You see, I have a BS in Math and a BA in Theatre, but I've never taken a Philosophy course, per se. However, my life seems to be leading me in that direction, and I seem to be following it. And now I've ended up most recently reading these certain words of yours. For instance,

Continentals study figures like Edmund Husserl, Martin Heidegger, Michel Foucault, and Gilles Deleuze and tend to focus on developing concepts and methods. Forgive me if this is redundant to you. Myself, I tend toward the continental, but still read a lot of analytic philosophy (know thine enemy, as they say ( ... )

In fact, I got the link here from spookythinking community. Is the community still active? I am not yet a graduate, but I almost am, i.e. I'm a final-year PPE student at Essex, and will definitely take up a PhD or MA (depending on which uni, US or UK, accepts me) in 2007/2008. Can I get access to the community as well?
