This DISGUSTS me.Having eighteen kids is perfectly okay in my book. Having eighteen BIOLOGICAL kids? That makes you a nightmare. There are people in Haiti paying money for pies made of MUD (mixed with butter and sugar) because there's no food there, and these people have brought enough children into the world to necessitate the need for three ( Read more... )

i agree with you!

but this is what it used to be like my parent's family and older.
it's just pretty different now in 2008.

i'm seriously wondering how can they pay for all those children?
that's a lot of food, that's a big house. and im pretty sure they don't live
like my father's family, 4 persons in one room, etc.. no car. beeing poor.

i don't even know if i want one child, jeez.
this world has enough people on earth!!!

yeah, exactly! years and years ago, this sort of things was more acceptable because a.) birth control was not as readily available and b.) the world wasn't so overpopulated. (plus people needed their kids to help with the farms and such.)

A 7000 square foot home is enormous. It's great that they can afford to care for all of those kids, but it'd be better if they were adopting instead of bringing MORE people into the world.

Plus, their lifestyle disgusts me. They homeschool all of their kids and the parents say "one of the older kids will help out with the younger kids". Well, I grew up in a large, homeschooling family, and so did my best friend, and we can both tell you that we spent WAY more time caring for/raising the younger kids than either of our parents did.

These people are way more like a commune than a family, IMO.

fucking FREAKS.

that's all i can even say about that. how fucking SELFISH and attention-starved can you get? two people cannot adequately care for eighteen other people. it's impossible.

I have this rant that starts in the neighborhood of peak oil, meanders through overpopulation with a bacteria/petri dish analogy, and ends with a sigh over the idea that as humans we've fucked ourselves beyond repair. I don't think we'll die off a species entirely, but I think we've doomed ourselves to mass casualty (AIDS, Famine, War, epidemic disease, overfed/undernourished) as we've likely exceeded the point where the earth can sustain our numbers and growth.

We've just been plain greedy with all of our resources.

Supposedly, the apocalypse is coming sometime in the future, right?

I think the idea of the apocalypse will simply turn out to be a self-fulfilling prophecy for all the reasons you've mentioned.

gross. do these people really think their dna is so special that it needs to be replicated 18 times? apparently.

when this woman is in her 60's and all of her internal organs are falling out of her vagina, she might wish she had made different choices.

Ugh, this makes me so annoyed. Just like the damn Jon and Kate plus 8 crap. Adopt a kid instead of making 20 on fertility meds.

This family is robbing their older children of a childhood, or any hopes of going to college or doing something with their life.

So selfish, of course they are in some ignorant religion.
