1. I just pried my mailbox door open with my bare hands (because one of my roommates keeps forgetting to leave the mail key where any of the us can get it). I must admit I take some grim satisfaction in that, even though the piece of mail I'm waiting for didn't arrive.

2. iPod touch as PDA--thoughts? And no, I am not going to get an iPhone. But I ( Read more... )

Sadly it doesn't look like they have Tuesday shows at First Avenue. It's a pretty neat venue even aside from the Prince associations.

Or you could walk through a Skyway and think about the Replacements.

Umm yeah. I got nothin'.

i don't know how the iPod Touches are now...but my friend got one right when they came out and had her friend hack it...and it seems to be a fantastic PDA. she's got her calendar on it, she can get the internet and her email on it wherever there happens to be a stray WiFi connection...she loves it. i don't have one, but i'm guessing it's got to be a pretty good PDA given that it has turned her from someone who doesn't use the internet in random places into someone who fiddles with her iPod Touch everywhere.

If nothing else, go get a drink at the Guthrie Theater- they have a new venue that's totally amazing and you can just go have a stroll, and go out the back to the balcony and look at the river lights. It's good cheap fun, actually. And this is their current season:

The 400 Bar- sometimes has good shows in the vein of The Empty Bottle:

2. A lot depends on how much you'll require connectivity and how much time you expect to be in a spot with wifi. That said, I have found that the iPhone in "airplane mode" (which I assume to be a close approximation of an iPod Touch) handles rather nicely. One can even read, re-file, and respond to email messages; the changes sync back when the device is next connected to yonder tubes.

Fit and finish on the user interface is top-notch and Apple-to-Apple sync, while not perfect, is a far cry better than sync between vendors.

3. You got my list. Still no word back regarding 112.

4. I find that exposure to the great masses of American Humanity tends to endanger my Good Liberal Values and instead gives way to Unkind Thoughts.

I'd go see whatever is playing at the Uptown Theater, personally. Right now it's In Bruges, but that may change by then.

There's a pub quiz at Keegan's if you're feeling homesick. (I've not been).
