okay, i just looked it up. it was in my truth essay.
i said it was his own free will because people have the desire to learn about themselves, and with this desire they go on to analyze and over-analyze their life. they can choose not to do this, but the fact that oedipus does so doesn't describe fate.
well, that was extremely poorly stated. but just, in general, he can stop himself from questioning his life. it was his choice to go ahead and ask around what happened, when he could have very well kept everything a secret and remained a great king.
