Sympathy for the Rich

Last night's House outing, entitled "Risky Business," reminded me why I once believed I was done with this show. I assume you've seen it, because I'm not recapping, just venting.

Sending jobs to China? A 10-year-old plotline. Not to mention, eliminating American jobs is such a good way to go over with a whole bunch of American viewers (you dumb-asses [TPTB]). Like about 99%.

Not to mention, House or his department getting rich on the backs of Chinese children isn't exactly the House who actually did have some humane principles at one time. And it looked like those principles were going to matter again in S8 until now.

Not to mention, House (OHD) getting rich at the expense of patient's losing his daughter, or: losing family for money?

DS's vision, of preferring money and the free expression of violence to family, humans, or any semblance of ethics, has brought this show low. Even lower than before. What used to save it was how House was only superficially a jerk in response to the jerkiness of other people; but now House is just a jerk after all.

Tech stuff: In one of the first scenes in House's office, a two-shot with Park, sometimes his fingers are flat and others twirling a pencil.

Why was Wilson looking half the time at Park and half the time at his office door? Good god, reading cue cards? So distracting and amateurish.

Please note that no medical equipment was harmed in the course of my brief rant.

wtf, house, 8.04, risky business, review
