I don't know how Brandon did it, but apparently he fractured something around his knee and just found out about it the other day.

I would assume if you fractured a bone, you'd be in excruciating pain. He either can have the surgery, or wear a brace for 2 to 3 years.

As for me, I wonder if I should go check my knees to ensure they aren't

You would be surprised. I fractured a bone in my leg bone right near my knee and I didn't notice it until the piece came loose and I wasn't able to straighten my leg because of it blocking my knee area. It didn't hurt at all until I couldn't walk because of the limping.
I had surgery on it and it took forever to heal and for me to be able to walk on again, but in most cases the surgery is simple and a quick heal.

I believe that is what he is afraid of though, that he will not be able to walk for awhile afterwards.

There must be a reason why it doesn't hurt that much when you break it. Now I do know Brandon complained a few times about pain, but everyone gets pain once in awhile. If I sleep wrong I get pains :P

We'll see what he decides.
