So... Amazon.com has decided to remove LGBT books from their rankings list by virtue of them being 'adult,' regardless of their actual content. But interestingly, it seems that heterosexual 'adult' books, movies, etc are not being similarly removed--I'm thinking the Anita Blake series by Laurell K. Ooh, they have more information than the other places I'd seen this. I have to say that this is a stupid move on Amazon's part, especially now. It doesn't make good business sense to alienate your customer base, unless they thought no one would notice/care?

Catering to the Christian base, which is probably larger? I dunno. People threw a big hoolah because it's apparently "adult" content. BS.

Yeah, but they're leaving out the real actual porn. I mean, no one really expects the fundies to be consistent, but you'd think Amazon would derank them as well, just to cover their ass, if nothing else.

I just think it's funny that within a couple of days, it's hit the some of the mainstream press. Amazon's going to have a clusterfuck of bad PR on its hands really soon.
