There's this couple at my church who are getting a divorce due to the wife's infidelity. She's now with the other man and it makes me want to throw up. Infidelity usually gets me this way, but in this case it's more so. I've known this chick for most of my life and she WAS my older sister's best friend. i don't know. i feel differently about that situation, though it is a sad one. i've basically grown up on dan savage, savage love, and though it may be extreme to some it really shaped how i see life/love. and not like it is a guide for me, but more so it opened my eyes to a world of perspectives so i'm a ridiculously open-minded individual i think in part to reading/listening to it for about ten years. and i think that breaking up a family if you are unhappy is not a bad thing. and i know it sounds really selfish and i'm not defending this women, because i don't know her or her situation, but in a broad and general sense i think if you put yourself in a situation you thought was one way and then slowly changed, like how some marriages/relationships just start strong and fizzle. and you know in your heart there is someone else that makes you feel love rather than resentment it's okay not to cheat, but explore that. and i think if you stay in a situation where you are depressed or no longer enjoy life, than it will have a negative ( ... )

I don't feel being unhappy in a marriage is reason for divorce. But I'm also not saying that one should grin and bear unhappiness in a marriage. Counselling, talking, spending time with each other ( ... )
