I'm also a teacher, but I do have a facebook page.

Facebook has an option that allows you to put your profile on private. I've used that. Now, all my students can find for me is my name and my profile picture. They can't see anything else without me accepting their friend request. Which, I won't and don't.

This is okay according to my school board. Most of the teachers I know have the same set up for their profiles.

I love Facebook. I love that everything is private until you choose to make it not private. I've been able to reconnect with so many people.

However, it's not LJ, and I don't use it like LJ. For me, they serve two different purposes, you know?

Woooowhooo - now I can send you a friend request!! Trust me, Facebook is addictive - well, at least for the first week or two.
