There's something really odd in the way that Death in the Afternoon describes bullfighting. It makes it out to be simultaneously honorable and despicably capitalist. From reading about them I feel absolutely no repulsion whatsoever in the way that horses are brutally gored as a comedic aspect of a larger tragedy nor am I really sad by the thought
