what is the difference between using -(으)ㄴ/는 줄 몰랐다 and -(으)ㄹ 줄 몰랐다?

I think that the difference comes down to this:
은/는 줄 몰랐다 is "didn't know it was ~/~ing"
을 줄 몰랐다 is "didn't know it would ~"

example:

너무 재밌어서 시간 가는 줄 몰랐다. It was so much fun that (I) didn't notice the time (passing).

이렇게 늦을 줄 몰랐다. (I) didn't know that it would (become) this late.
