Well it seems like this society is dead and no one is interested in philosophy any more. Is it really so?

I'm still interested, but I can't think of a decent topic. my brain is frozen.

I've been planning on reading something of Satre for a while though.

It seems like no one in our soceity is interested in philosophy is because people need to see its application to their lives. Philosophy has to reach out from the Philosophy section at Barnes & Noble into our lives. I have only become seriously interested in philosophy when I saw how it can apply to life. Politics is philosophy. The Republicans and Democrats have differenct philosophies about how this country should be run. The branch of philosophy I am interested in is ethics. Specifically I am interested in research ethics and medical ethics. Heatlth care and energy are the subjects of heated debates in our country. Furture research, devlopment, and funding must be conducted in an ethical way. I didn't get intereseted in philosophy be glancing at books by Kant, Nietzsche, or William James in the bookstore. I got interested by thinking about the important issues of today and where I personally stand on those issues. Show people the application to their lives and they will start to get interested in philosophy. Until then it ( ... )
