More extrapolation - the younger Walkers

Titty might end up a bit taller than Susan. Maybe 5ft 6 or 7? For one thing, she’s a post WW1 baby, so might have been a little better nourished in utero than the older 4. (I’m assuming that Peggy and Susan might have come of worst in that respect.) I’m also assuming that Titty is slim verging on thin as a young woman. Again, I’m assuming brown ( Read more... )

ohh... agree on Titty - possibly slightly reddish brown hair.

I can certainly see Roger ending up tall. (I've never settled on a theory for what he did during the war, although I've always thought him the likeliest to get killed).

Agree about Bridget growing out of being plump - especially as she would still be fairly young at the start of rationing. I suspect her hair would be fairly light naturally - possibly the lightest of any of them, but still brown rather than blonde. I'd say her eyes were fairly light as well, possible hazel.

Roger's eating habits amazon_ahoy October 19 2014, 12:37:31 UTC
Until I was in my mid-20s I could eat anything I wanted and never go above 10 stone 8. Unfortunately I seem to have lost this ability at some point, but I'd say that with the right metabolism Roger should be able to eat all the chocolate Susan allows him without any blobbiness problems.

I can sympathize about the being able to eat anything you want - and then suddenly not. I struggled to eat enough to keep my weight above 7 stone until I was about 24. Then I had couple of years where I was slim but not worryingly so. And then it was as if someone had flicked a switch altering my metabolism from paternal grandmother's to mother's almost overnight. By that time I'd had years of training myself to eat food, especially high calorie food if it was available, out of necessity. I suppose the fact it also coincided with a time in my life where more food than I needed had now become affordable didn't help. Anyway, I am quite Molly Blackett shaped! I have been healthier overall as somewhat overweight than underweight though.
