Clever way to get around the characters not meeting for the second one - very sweet.
I'm picturing this as post -Pieces, so whiskey is even more appropriate. Perhaps John and Nancy and children are staying with the McGinty's and the Callums are too. The Swallow's parents are with the Dudgeon's who can't go away at Christmas and Molly might be with the Bradings. (Cook is visiting her sister in Lytham or Morcombe for a fortnight.)The Bradings might be near enough to Horning to visit for a day or two.
