It's getting to be that time of year where everyone has a list and is checking it two, three, okay maybe 30 times. So one Neil Dylandy, age 11, has been oh so conveniently left at a gigantic AU mall by his very responsible parents (the same ones that let him take up marksmanship before his 10th birthday ( Read more... )

Krile was looking around the mall, trying to find a store that was selling something... useful. She needed a good pair of boots, but so far most of what she'd seen had been uncomfortable, garish, or had a heel about half her height.

Maybe she'd just get something garish and be done with it. Considering some of the things ancient warriors had apparently worn, she could certainly get away with it--she was distracted by these philosophical musings by the sight of a boy standing outside of a weapons shop (although they really only sold one thing) with stars in his eyes.

"What's so interesting in there?" she said with a grin, coming up next to him.

Krile giggled at his look of injured justice when she noticed the sign that was stopping him from ogling the merchandise up-close. "Well, I'm sure I would count as an adult. Want to go in with me?" The fact that she was fifteen and five feet tall didn't even occur to her as a problem.

"--Oh! But we should know each other's names. I'm Krile!" She bowed to him politely, a hand on her chest.

He raised an eyebrow at her offer, but while he did notice that she didn't quite fit the description of an adult that he had in mind, he was pretty desperate to look around in the store.

Then as she bowed, he blinked. It wasn't the first time he had encountered someone like this, so it wasn't to weird.

"My Ma says I shouldn't talk to strangers, but since you introduced yourself I guess we aren't." He gave her a little wink that was probably way too charming for an 11 year old. "My name is Neil. It's nice to meet you."
