Yeah, I've been away. Ken and I left for Vermont last Thursday, and got home last night (Tuesday). I learned to ski, and it was awesome. I'd describe the whole thing now, but I just wrote a six-page narrative English essay on the experience. Don't worry, I may post the whole thing tomorrow, after I make some final revisions for next week's ( Read more... )

I went on a ski trip once with my youth group (yes, I was in a youth group once, a church youth group, so what?). I took the beginner classes and went on the beginner slope. It took me all day to finally get partway down that slope without falling down, and then some guy ran into me and knocked me over. I ended up spending the next couple of days in the lodge because the skis were really hurting my knees and I was just tired of it. But I think if I went skiing again I would try harder. I'm a lot different now.
Anyway I'm really glad you got yourself to do this, and that you had fun! And I really liked your essay.

Yay for skiing in VT! Good to know you're still alive, lady. Lucky you on the good grades in college. I'm glad for you that you are going back and seem to be enjoying it. Wanna do some homework for me one of these days? :P

I read your whole essay. I'm as proud as can be. We have taught many people to ski...getting over the fear is the hardest part and I'm glad you've done it. You and Jake are probably at the same level...you should ski together. Hope to see you up there. And doesn't the house just rock?
