Given that every damn thing is in short supply around here, why hasn't anyone made more detailed maps of the shopping district or the hospital? Especially the hospital, which seems to be a hotspot. Anyone qualified? If not, I'll make it myself, but shit, come on.

[ The small, dilapidated building he was standing on held his weight well enough, only creaking whenever he moved too fast, or stayed in one place for too long -- ten minutes would be more than enough to wait. ]

[ Robin waited. It was something he was slowly growing accustomed to doing in this city-but-not, where the normal hustle and bustle of human society became so toned down as to be nonexistent. Thumbing the rather large bar of chocolate in his left hand, Tim wondered how exactly this would be a fair trade for information, but quickly dispelled any kind of nagging thoughts he may have had: if "Mello" had agreed to it, who was he to argue?]

[He was starting to figure out the pace and pattern of the monsters in this particular region of the streets. That pack of sniffer dogs near nesting in one of the abandoned buildings. The odd proliferation of brown mushrooms near the Church that it was best to steer clear of...

The closer you got to the High School, the easier the going got. He could see how some people might be almost comfortable here. In a binocular sort of way.

... And there was the High School. He stopped a little bit up the street and looked around the area for the person he'd come here to meet--he had only a vague impression of what he should be looking for.]

[ His first impression of Mello focused solely on the...(burn? acid? surgical?) scars covering almost the entire left side of his face, as the sight of them reminded him of the man he had just put back in Arkham before arriving here.

Tim kept any reservations he may have had to himself, however. He had, after all, only met Mello recently and the benefit of the doubt was an easier thing to give than any profiling Bruce or Nightwing would have done in his place. Swinging down via grappling gun from his perch above the blond, Robin -- because that's who he was now -- landed with a soft *thud* just to Mello's left, a dark streak of green, red, orange and black standing perfectly still at the mouth of an alleyway. ]

"...You Mello?"

Y-!

[The sneaking up wouldn't have been quite enough to make him jump--it was the costume and the mask, in the flesh, that nearly sat him down on his ass on the pavement. Luckily, all he did was a weird sort of skip-recoil that nevertheless must have looked, well, really weird.

Talk about embarrassing.

He covered by basically pretending nothing had happened.]

... Yeah. Yeah, that's me.

[He had Robin the Boy Wonder standing in front of him. This was even weirder than talking to Donald Duck about bombs and viruses and the end of the goddamn world.]

[ This was the person who had wanted to meet him? Robin perked an eyebrow up at the...admittedly flaky display, shifting back onto his left foot as he crossed his arms at his chest, his head cocked to one side.

It wasn't everyday that an entrance worked liked that. ]

By the look on your face, I'm going to say you've either already heard of me, or need a change of pants.

[He fought the urge to bristle at the attitude coming off of the boy in front. Let him run into someone clearly fictional and see how he reacted.

On the other hand, he'd already made enough of a fool of himself, and even through his temper, Mello could see that taking this anywhere was a pointless exercise.

Stand down--hating it, but there were more pressing matters.]

You... look like someone I know. [Putting it lightly; he fought the urge to start laughing hysterically and shrugged, rummaging in his pockets for the pamphlet.]

I'm sure.

[ Robin fought the urge to roll his eyes. As far as he had figured out, Discedo had a tendency to throw everyone who came to it for a loop fairly easily, which meant that maybe in Mello's world a teenager in a superhero costume wasn't something you just saw everyday.

Oh well, he seemed bright enough to get over it; live and adapt, as Beastboy would say. ]

[Let the kid think what he wanted; it was unlikely that he'd come anywhere close to the truth. That is, unless he came into contact with the fictional characters prominent enough in pop culture to be fictional in his world--

That way lay a headache. Although it sounded like prime entertainment, at the same time.

Anyway.]

Here's a copy I made of the pamphlet. The original's not in the best condition, but it was still pretty legible; that should be as accurate as the original map.

[ He reached out and grabbed the pamphlet without a word, opening it up so that he could give it a quick once over. To be sure, it was an accurate copy of what he thought may lay out around the City, but without seeing it with his own eyes he'd never be able to accept it as fact -- a conundrum. ]

Who did you get this from?

[A raised eyebrow was the only answer.] Chocolate?

[ Reaching inside of his utility belt, Robin tossed the aforementioned Hershey bar of chocolate towards the blonde. ]

Here.

[He caught the bar, unwrapped it and broke off a piece with his teeth in the same practiced motion.]

Guy named Logan.
