Seriously, I think those "teen repellents" are a horrible idea. Even ignoring the question of whether it's a good idea to repel teens specifically... not everyone who can hear high frequencies is a teenager. There are some adults who can't stand to be around a television or a fluorescent light because the high-pitched whine is too obnoxious.
This is basically discriminating against people with certain genetic traits and people who didn't ruin their hearing.
i must be out of the loop. i haven't even heard of the teen repellents. i just thought it was interesting to see what i could still hear. (and thankful that all those years of concerts (and sticking my head INTO speakers) hasn't done too much damage! *grin*
but yeah, i can see what you're saying. and i thought those noises were annoying, even though i could hear them.
