Dear Places in the World,

Please stop burning down or flooding, it's really getting me down.

I just have to say I hate most Terry Gilliam films. I know that is a very bad thing to say but I find them unwatchable, and I'm so glad that someone else on the planet has something to say about one of his films that is negative.

That episode of The Office was probably the best of the season thus far.

I feel the same about Gilliam as I do about Lynch, I don't necessarily always enjoy the films but they make me think a lot and I like the style. Brothers Grimm is actually great, although a lot of it I get mixed up with Stardust in retrospect! I thought it was a shame that it wasn't in the list of films that were mentioned when Heath Ledger died, I thought it was one of his best. Much better than Monster's Ball anyway.

Funny you should mention Brother's Grimm, I just watched it the other day. I was at least able to get through it all, which is more than I can say for most Gilliam films (although I happen to love 12 Monkeys), and I'm iffy on it, but I don't get why it was panned as badly as it was.

In the Entertainment Weekly that commemorated the one year anniversary of Heath's death they talk about Brothers Grimm.

i think i liked tideland. it made my head and my brain feel a little strange, and i watched it about 5am on a nightshift with someone who had read the book and kept saying "oh i remember this bit" "oh this bit is good". but it got me thinking and i liked that it was surreal and grotesque but still innocent and pretty like a fairytale.
