My cancan skirts are officially finished! YAY! I rehemmed the underskirt (what a pain) and added bias tape to the top ruffle. I also finally hemmed the overskirt.
Here's the skirts on my dressform.
And on me (these were taken before I hemmed the overskirt, to double check the new underskirt length):
I was all excited when I finished and I wanted to start mocking the bodice right away. But, woe, I am out of muslin. I don't know how that happened. I always have a bolt laying around for occasions such as this, but I guess I used it up and never got around to buying more. I must fix this immediately.
Perhaps it's a sign to set this aside for a few weeks and work on other little projects that need some attention. I've also been toying with the idea of making a real chemise to wear (rather than the tanktop and skirt I've been using). Maybe I'll see what Joanns has when I go to get more muslin. It would have to be the right shade of green, of course, and a natural fiber would be a plus...
