Just keep sewing...just keep sewing...

Well, I winged it and got the bodice boned. I ended up adding boning along the full length of the CF seams and front darts, and boning to the waist for the side seams, back darts, and CB seam, since I didn't want the boning to interfere with the faux bustle.

Sorry for the crappy mirror pics. I'll have nice pictures of the final ensemble soon.

And there's no time to sit back and admire my work. Here's the second bodice, nearing completion:

Originally, it was just going to be a standard vest, but I thought it needed something, so I added an inverted half-circle of box pleats in the back. I like the effect since it mirrors bodice #1 with the poof of the bustle without actually having a bustle pad. Since this picture, I've sewn the lining and attached it to the fashion fabric. I need to finish the side seams (and add boning there), topstitch, and add buttons and buttonholes. Bodice #1 needs one last row of topstitching and buttons and buttonholes, but I ran out of thread, so that's on hold until I can run to the store.

Still to do:
- final muslin for pants #1
- final muslin for faux bustle
- fitting on Wednesday for pants #1 and faux bustle
- muslin for pants #2 for Thursday (earlier, if possible)
- finish pattern for coat on Thursday (or earlier)
- muslin for coat
- sew like crazy to finish by May 7th
