Staying Up Late

May 07, 2006 06:10

I've been sleeping at weird times. I only go to bed when the sun is up and all bright out side. This has been going on since a long time now, which makes me feel all tired once i actually wake up. It's messing up my day. I also noticed i don't eat much when that happens. I've got to sleep at 'normal' times again if i want to actually do anything ( Read more... )

I watched it too,(it was on friday 3ala mbc right?")
I actually thought that it was retarded and i was pretty offended. The bearded man, shaves off his brows and then drinks wine? it is just something that i can put together. :s
I didnt like the plot and i dont like 3adel imam.
Now anybody who had seen this movie would probably have the stereotype that bearded men always have bombs and grenades under their beds, and that the only thing they care about is bombing, marrying 4 wives and living a boring stupid life. I didnt watch the entire movie since i got fed up of it, but i thought that the scene when the journalist was shot in the car was funny, (and what were they shooting with from a distance? a hand gun) his blood...was pink..and it left a nice stain on the window of his car.

Shreehan is her name right?(the woman with the thick brow).i think that she still has that eyebrow and still suffers from hair problems

Oh you should really see the rest of the movie.
It's very interesting watching his character's transformation throughout the movie.
The movie was actually describing a reality. People like that exist. And during that time, Egypt was really under attack by those kinds of people. And by the way, after Adel Imam made that movie, those people actually threatened to kill him because he was attacking them in his movie. Instead Adel Imam started going to lots of areas in Egypt, and talking some sense to them. Although i don't like what he does on some of his movies, i must say he is a very brave man.

There were lots of nice concepts and ideas in the movie, you just have to look between the lines. Like remember when that journalist was having dinner with the family and they asked him if he was armed, since terrorists wanted to kill him, and he said yes i am armed, and then he took out his pen.
That's just one of many things i liked in the movie.

Hmm. Well, I know that removing the hair on the eyebrows is haraam, but if they were actually accentuating their eyebrows...

Well, in Morocco, they have this thing where the darker features and thicker hair someone has, the more attractive they are. So, they like thick hair, dark thick eyebrows, dark thick eyelashes, dark eyes...etc.

I cannot help but think of some scary woman with a thick very dark and hairy unibrow from what you just said. The Moroccans I know have small brows and alot of them remove the hair someway.

Well we aren't talking unibrow but like really thick eyebrows. You know, like big but not long side ways. But...most of the Moroccans I know, have very little hair on their bodies, naturally. My stepmom has very small eyebrows and like no hair on her arms and legs, and neither do most of my other moroccan friends. They don't remove it, they just naturally don't have a lot.
