Last night Puck and I were driving home listening to a CD conference for work when I saw a deer struggling on the side of the road. I pulled over and started to back up when we saw her struggle to cross the road. She collapsed twice and Puck ran towards her while I parked the car and put on the flashers. I ran up to see her collapse a third time

Oh my heavens of course I would have! Being there in any creature's last moments is the most important thing. No one should have to die alone.

If it was a human it would have been different though. I would HOPE. The guy who hit it would have stopped. There would have been cops involved. The injuries propably wouldn't have killed a human so soon.

But yes, we would have carried them off the road and done as much as possible for them to help.

I think this entry made me more sad that you and Puck are no longer in the same state as me. I miss you guys.
It takes a rare breed these days to help an animal that is hurt. That is why I am glad that you two are my friends.
