In England, jokes are played only in the morning. Fools are called 'gobs' or 'gobby' and the victim of a joke is called a 'noodle.' It was considered back luck to play a practical joke on someone after noon.

Whaaaa? I've lived in England all my life but never heard of gobs and gobby, well, not in that context "gob" is slang for mouth, and "gobby" slang for mouthy "Shut yer gob ya gobby shite" (Shut your mouth, you mouthy shit!")

ANd noodle? Eh?

But the morning thing is true enough.
