[He pauses, then figures this is as good a time as any to officially extend the olive branch, since he knows Isamu is still somewhat mistrusting of him.]

I know that you're still suspicious of me, and I don't blame you for it. But I give you my word, I have no desire to interfere with your friendship with Naoki. I'd like to be your friend as well, if you'd have me.

[And he holds out his hand to Isamu. He doesn't actually expect the other to take it; it's more of a symbolic gesture than anything.]
