I am very, very addicted to Dragon Age: Origins. It's like the Sims but with fighting. You can customize your character (and if you're like me, you know how to mod them to hell and back so they look awesome), and you can hook up with just about anyone. You have to make friends with your party or they'll be all "EFF YOU" and leave. Which sounds like ( Read more... )

So if you like Bioware games that let you customize your character, you really need to check out Mass Effect. Once I finish ME2 I'm going to try Dragon Age.

Dude it so is! At first I didn't think I was going to like it as much as I liked the first game, but it is so freaking badass and fun.

I have some friends who played it without playing the original game first, so I guess you can do that if you want to. But I really enjoyed Mass Effect and don't think I would've tried ME2 if I hadn't started from the beginning.

Tip: If you pick them up, there's a really good Mass Effect Wiki site with excellent walkthroughs and maps that show you where pretty much everything is. Made the whole "Drive around a crapload of planets to find shit" thing bearable.

Dragon Age also has a wiki, because it also has the annoying "Figure this shit out without a hint" kinda vibe going on. Some times you can talk to your companions and they'll give you hints, but for the most party you just need to figure it out.

Yeah, I'd definitely prefer to play the first one before the second. I think my brother owns the second, so I could just borrow it... don't know about the first though.
