Saw the new Star Trek movie. It was good, but I'm still figuring out the whole time warp thing and how it relates to the old canon, which now is only sort of hypothetical. I loved NewBones and the gratuitious refernce to Admiral Archer's pet beagle.

Oh and I looked at that 6 Sci-Fi Movie conventions list and it was way too anal, even for me. I also like how people love to tear science fiction apart but then can't tell us how it should be shown visually. I like one of the comments on that article:
Every sci-fi article ever: Stop showing us the same thing, give us new stuff!
Writer: Like what?
Article: ...
At least for movies and TV, it's a bit pointless as it's visual material. I could see this list being taken a lot more seriously for writing though. Especially #3, the monolith planet, I hope to avoid in my own works.
