(no subject)
so i just got back from the chicago weekend with the fam. it was a pretty good time so i'll review it down below. right now there is a huuuge moose in my field and it's lying down. my lazy ass of a dog hasn't even noticed it. anyway i haven't been home long enough for anything to happen really.
so friday morning we had to get up at 6 to leave for the airport. drove an hour and a half to manchester and met my dad there. the flight to chicago was painless (or as painless as it can be for someone who is fly-phobic). landed in o'hare and went to pick up our rental. my dad flipped on thje shuttle bus driver because he is a special customer and they forgot to give him preferrential treatment. then he yelled at the lady at the front desk because they gave us the wrong type of convertible. can you say high maintenance? anyway so we took our car and drove out to lunch in my dad's old town and then went to visit my grandma. i think i forgot to mention this but the whole reason we flew out there is cause my oldest cousin (will) got married. so we went to check into our hotel (which was the holiday inn because that's where the reception for the wedding was). so that was the second problem: my dad flipped at the concierge (or whatever you call those people at a holiday inn) cause they wouldn't give us adjoining rooms. so my brother and i ended up with a room down the hall from my parents which freaked my mom out because there were scary redneck nascar men staying in the hotel as well. so then the wedding. got lost on our way there, then met all of my cousins whom i hadn't seen in 6 years. saw my uncle dave who i visited in san fran this march. the wedding was gorgeous and will's wife giovana (aka G) is absolutely beautiful. so after the ceremony went back to the3 reception which was pretty boring cause i don't know anyobne so my brother and i went back to the hotel room and watched harry potter.
saturday got up realll early and goit breakfast, checked out and went to visit gma again. dave and deb stopped by so it was actually fun and we just hung out and played with her cat boxer. thenw ent to my uncle will's hosue and the bride and groom came and there was a ton of family there so that was nice to say bye to all of them at once. then we drove into the city, checked into our magnificent hotel which was looking right out on navy pier and the river. my mom and i went to pizzeria due;s (the second one in the chain of uno's), then we all went to the white sox game. comiskey park (or now "us cellular") is a really nice and fancy park but i am def staying faithful to fenway. anyway the white sox lost 1-10 but there was a huge fireworks display afterwords which was neat. then we went back to the hotel and my dad anbd brother nad uncle went to the billygoat (the club john belushi frequented during the SNL era).
today we got up and walked down to millenium park whcih is this really nice park in the center of chicago. watched these really cool fountains with faces on them and my dad made friends with some african street-side musician (surprise, surprise). then drove to the airport, and the rest is history.
