They release him in the afternoon. His throat is hoarse from talking (and talking and explaining and talking some more). He's also not quite sure what's going on and his arm is oddly sore, a small bandage covering where they took blood.
There's tea on the table for him when he arrives home, but the place is empty. A note from his mother that he only half reads and Zak's away at school again.
Feeling a bit more calm after some toast, he finds his way up to his room and collapses on the bed.
An idea strikes him and he pulls open one of the many boxes piled in the room (all of his dorm room stuff neatly packed) and finds his cell phone. *handwaves science* And he calls her.
