I liked how Billie Joe keeps poking, trying to get a reaction. He doesn't like that he doesn't get signals off of Leech (is it to guide the way he himself chooses to act around Leech?), and I know I'd be the same way. Does Billie think that Leech's unaffectedness gives him more control over the situation, their interaction?
I wonder why Leech seems so unaffected. Is that just how he is? Is he that way because it's safer, a learned experience, a way of protecting a part of himself? Or does he not like other people seeing anything inside of him that he doesn't blatantly show, a way of exerting control?
Or am I just reading too much into them both? Hmmm.

Like I said, there's some backstory here that I didn't really bother to explain because it would be too complicated and take way too long, and besides that I sort of like leaving it up to guess work. I'm sure Billie's youth and inexperience, in this timespan anyway, have a lot to do with the way Leech frustrates him. As for Leech, I think it might be a little of all three of the possibilities you came up with, probably more the second one than anything else, though.
I'm glad you had so much to think about with this, and also that you liked it, of course. And thanks for sharing those thoughts, because now I have something to think about, maybe it will get me writing more.
