If you like maps, be sure also to check out the cartogram at electoral-vote.com. In that map the states are scaled so that their areas approximate their relative numbers of electoral votes. It lets you figure out who's winning by comparing areas at a glance, unlike the surprisingly red unwarped map.

Note also that electoral-vote.com was created and is maintained by none other than Andrew S. Tannenbaum, a famous computer scientist who literally wrote the book on operating systems.

The analysis and methodology at fivethirtyeight.com is a whole lot more robust than electoral-vote. Nate Silver is a genius. It's my first and last site of the day, and I find myself checking back far too often looking for updates, simply because it takes 5-10 minutes for new posts to show up in Google Reader.

Yeah, I have a problem.
