Eric is taking a nap so I'm going to take a minute to scribble down some thoughts.

I've never been jet lagged by 9 hours before.  Definitely discombobulating.   We left Seattle on Sunday afternoon around 5 PM and arrived in Iceland at 7AM.  It never got dark.  I didn't get to see out the window though, we had aisle seats and all the window blinds ( Read more... )

That power saving key switch thing is pretty neat!

I recently had my first serious jet lag. Going there was ok. We missed out on many touristy things because we got up late and stayed up late which means we had much time partying with our hosts or wandering around towns in the dark, just the two of us. We did enjoy that. Coming back was really hard. I did the Ambien thing and got my sleep regular-ish, but I still felt "off". Ryan told me of the theory that our souls travel slower than airplanes. That does convey the feeling.

It sounds like it's an interesting trip. Are you having fun?

Yeah. I think today is the first day I'm feeling more "normal"

I am having fun. More of an adventure than the last trip, as things like finding my way around town are much more difficult. The French Quarter in NoLa is a grid. The city center of Oslo is more like a labrynth.

More info in the next post :)

I hear that! I gave up on finding short cuts quickly in Iceland, unless I wanted to get lost (as I do at times). The streets got me so turned around in such a small area!

I'm glad you didn't meet much adventure in New Orleans. That place can be scary.
