Summary: Everyone is attracted to Sungjong, especially Myungsoo, but he is afraid to move further, that is until he can’t take it anymore.
A/N: I haven’t written anything in a while and this isn’t one of my best but I felt like writing for a different group. So Infinite it is!
Sungjong was unaware of the multiple pairs of eyes following his every move. He lay on the floor relaxing after an intense dance practice. His breathing finally slowed to normal as he rolled to his stomach and pushed himself up off the floor. His movements resembled that of a feline, back arching as he stretched, fingers curling, head down and eyes closed as he yawned releasing the tension built up in his body after remaining stationary on the floor. He enjoyed the feeling of stretching his muscles as he stood and placed his arms over his head while rolling his shoulders.
The whole time his fellow group mates watched in awe as he finished stretching, the curves of his body protruding out in the most feminine ways possible. His hips swayed suggestively as he leaned from one side to the other. It was beyond difficult for the members to stop staring.
Sunggyu cleared his throat and stood up from his seat on the floor. Clapping his hands he spoke. “Great job today guys. Let’s gather our things so we can get home to rest.”
The others were released from their trance. Glancing from Sunggyu to Sungjong before moving into action. Sunggyu didn’t like how all of the guys had been staring at Sungjong. He felt ashamed of himself for participating in the act. It was becoming even more evident of how the maknae was making everyone in the group feel. Sungjong was a little ball of sunshine that drew everyone’s attention, even though he was clueless to that fact. It worried the leader how it would affect the group if anyone acted on their feelings toward Sungjong; he didn’t even want to think about it.
There was one person still keeping a close eye on Sungjong. Because he was normally silent no one paid much attention to his brooding gaze directed towards the maknae of the group. His attitude in general would never allow him to voice his annoyance towards his fellow group mates for ogling at Sungjong. He would never reprimand Sungjong for teasing everyone with his actions. His quiet demeanor and need for balance within the group only added to the fact that he doesn’t voice his desire for the guys to stop behaving as they do. The only times his guard is down is when he is alone with the attention grabbing maknae.
“Myungsoo? Do you have everything?” Hoya asked pulling Myungsoo out of his hypnotized state created by Sungjong.
Myungsoo simply nodded and stood to follow the others out of the door while staying a safe distance from the boy of his affections. He watched as Sungyeol draped his arm around Sungjong’s shoulders. Myungsoo’s actions later would express exactly how much he was affected by this small action by Sungyeol directed towards Sungjong.
Myungsoo is always dealing with the others throwing themselves at Sungjong. Anyone would think he would get used to it, but how could he ever be okay with another guy attempting to steal Sungjong away from him. Of course the other members didn’t know about the special relationship between Myungsoo and the maknae. They had no idea that Sungjong would sneak into Myungsoo’s bed after everyone had fallen asleep and return to his own before anyone would know he was missing. It was their secret routine because Sungjong only felt safe sleeping next to Myungsoo and Myungsoo wasn’t about to deny the adorable maknae comfort because he loved how it felt to hold Sungjong in his arms as they slept.
The two youngest in the group had grown surprisingly close to one another after debut. Even though Myungsoo was the brooding silent type, Sungjong felt compelled to spend time with him. His talkative nature was a perfect match for Myungsoo less outspoken one and Myungsoo was more than happy to listen to the ramblings of a certain hyper maknae. They just seemed to even each other out with their opposite attitudes.
Once back home, the guys split up to do their nightly routines, some washing up, some eating, some watching television, while Myungsoo decided to simply go lie down alone in his room. He wanted to be left alone and as far away as possible from the other guys. It wasn’t long after Myungsoo began to drift to sleep that he felt his bed dip down on one side and gentle fingers running through his hair.
“Hyung?” Sungjong whispered as he continued to play with Myungsoo’s matted hair.
The elder rolled over slightly and groaned at the sound of Sungjong’s voice.
“Hyung?” He shook Myungsoo gently. “Hyung? You went to sleep without washing up. That’s not good for your skin. What will happen if the visual of the group loses his perfect face?” Sungjong ran his fingers down Myungsoo’s cheek and jaw line tracing his features. He could easily see why management had chosen him for the face of Infinite. There was something extremely attractive about the line of Myungsoo’s lips and how his eyes curve when he smiles. Sungjong wants to see Myungsoo smile because he hasn’t seen it all afternoon. Sungjong wasn’t sure why but his hyung has been moody and it’s torturing him.
The older male continued to feign sleep because he wasn’t in the mood to deal with Sungjong and he felt that if he woke up he would hurt Sungjong’s feelings with his current attitude. Of course, the maknae wasn’t going to give up easily at getting Myungsoo’s attention.
“Hyung?” Sungjong tried shaking Myungsoo again but that didn’t work. He then tried blowing in his ear. “Hyung?” When neither of these attempts worked, Sungjong moved to something more drastic that he knew he would have to pay for it later.
Because of Myungsoo’s unwillingness to wake up, Sungjong jumped on top of him putting all his weight on Myungsoo while tickling him. Myungsoo could only resist a few moments before squirming under Sungjong’s touches. His only way to stop the maknae was to wake up and grab him while rolling over so that he would now have the advantage by being on top.
Sungjong was surprised at his hyung’s quick movements. “Were you awake this whole time?” he asked suspiciously. Myungsoo shrugged in response giving a slight smile. Sungjong gulped before speaking again. “What’s wrong with you today hyung?”
Myungsoo stared at Sungjong. His gaze made the younger male uncomfortable. In his trance, Myungsoo began to lean in closer, never breaking eye contact with Sungjong. He paused centimeters from the others face before taking a deep breath and rolling off of Sungjong. He couldn’t bring himself to change their relationship. It is true that they share a bed regularly and like to hold onto each other for comfort but they had never done anything more. Myungsoo couldn’t straighten the jumbled array of thoughts in his mind regarding the cute maknae and being the sensible guy that he is, he didn’t want to ruin their relationship by acting rashly.
Sungjong stared at the ceiling in shock. He glanced at Myungsoo who was now sitting with his back to Sungjong and his legs hanging off the side of the bed. Sungjong placed his hand over his chest to soothe his rapidly beating heart. Why had it seemed like Myungsoo was about to kiss him? He couldn’t understand what his hyung was thinking. Even more worrisome is the fact that Sungjong couldn’t understand why he was disappointed Myungsoo hadn’t gone further with his actions.
Unsure of how to respond, Sungjong sat up to catch his breath. He opened and closed his mouth several times before biting his lip in thought. He was still curious about Myungsoo moody attitude from earlier, but he couldn’t shake this new feeling he received from Myungsoo being so close.
Without knowing what to say, Sungjong placed his hand on Myungsoo’s shoulder. Gaining his attention, Sungjong shifted to sit beside Myungsoo on the edge of the bed. He could feel Myungsoo’s body stiffen beside him. Deciding to use his adorable charm, Sungjong took hold of Myungsoo’s arm and leaned his head on the elder’s shoulder. In a cute but whiny voice, Sungjong spoke. “Hyung? Are you okay?”
Myungsoo simply stared forward unable to look at the maknae because he knew he wouldn’t be able to control himself if he saw how adorable Sungjong looked at the moment. To make matters worse, Sungjong’s body heat on his right side was even more tempting. Because shifting away would have hurt Sungjong’s feelings, Myungsoo held in his reserve and whispered, “Don’t worry so much. I’m fine.”
Sungjong didn’t accept Myungsoo’s word for a minute. He knew his friend too well to be fooled by such a simple lie. Instead of confronting him about it, Sungjong decided to take a different approach. “Hyung, you look tired,” Sungjong stated pulling on Myungsoo’s arm. “Let’s just go to sleep.”
For probably the first time Myungsoo refused to lie down. Instead he pulled away from Sungjong and whispered, “Maybe it would be better if you slept in your own bed tonight.”
Sungjong hadn’t expected this. Had Myungsoo really told him to go sleep on his own? He knew Sungjong hadn’t been able to get a decent sleep without being by his side. He had even experimented with sleeping with his other hyungs, but it just wasn’t the same comfort he received from Myungsoo.
“But Myungsoo~ah, you know I can’t sleep alone.” Sungjong was pouting intensely but it wasn’t working because the other boy refused to face him.
“Sungjong, I think it’s time you grew up.” Myungsoo turned away from the younger because if he had seen the huge round eyes on Sungjong’s face and how they were on the verge of tears, he would have immediately given in. “I just need some time alone.”
“Hyung?” Sungjong whined.
“Please, just go.” Myungsoo hung his head afraid to reveal his own hurt expression to the maknae. What Sungjong doesn’t realize is that this is harder for Myungsoo to be mean to him than it is for Sungjong to deal with the rejection.
Feeling defeat, Sungjong slowly left the bed and exited the room without saying anything else to Myungsoo afraid to make him even more annoyed. He didn’t realize the tears trailing down his cheeks until Woohyun was hugging him.
“Sungjongie, what’s wrong? What happened?”
But Sungjong couldn’t speak. He couldn’t answer his hyung’s questions. He could only cry harder, shaking from the sob emitting from his chest because his heart was slowly breaking.
Hearing his sobs the other members came to see what was wrong. Upon seeing Sungjong teary eyed and distraught, everyone moved in to hug him. But none of these hugs are what Sungjong needed right now. The group was missing the one person that could make Sungjong better.
Sunggyu being the leader realized that Sungjong was only getting worse and Myungsoo was missing from the mass of people hovering around the maknae. It was strange because Myungsoo was always the first to comfort Sungjong when he was upset. He figured the best solution would be to get Myungsoo involved in this.
He knocked on Myungsoo’s door before entering to find Myungsoo sprawled across the bed with his head under his pillow. Myungsoo could hear how upset Sungjong was and it tortured him. Having his door opened only increased the sound of Sungjong’s cries, tearing at Myungsoo heart even more.
“Myungsoo,” Sunggyu started. “Something is wrong with Sungjong. We need your help.”
Myungsoo didn’t move. It took all his efforts to remain stationary on the bed. Sunggyu wasn’t going to allow this to continue. “Myungsoo!” He raised his voice as he moved towards the bed grabbing the pillow away from the boy hiding under it. “Myungsoo, get up and go help Sungjong.”
Myungsoo simply covered his eyes and rolled over onto his stomach trying to hide from his hyung. He didn’t want to reveal that he was crying as well. He hadn’t been able to keep the stone face that he usually shows everyone. He could no longer contain his emotions. He was hurting because Sungjong was hurting and it was entirely his fault. How could he possibly tell Sungjong the truth when he doesn’t even know the truth about how he feels?
Sunggyu seeing that Myungsoo was upset rested on the bed beside him while patting his back gently. “Do you mind telling me what’s going on?” Myungsoo didn’t answer so the leader decided to force him to turn over, which was easily done. Myungsoo kept his arm over his eyes though. Sunggyu forcibly pulled it away making Myungsoo look at him. “Tell me what happened. At least let me try to fix it.”
Myungsoo’s voice was rough. “I can’t,” he choked out. “I just can’t.” More tears cascaded down the sides of his face as he moved his hand to wipe them away.
“Myung, talk to me. I just want to help.” Sunggyu had never seen his dongsaeng show such emotions. It worried him to see Myungsoo break down to such a vulnerable state. “Did something happen between you and Sungjong?” Sunggyu was trying to figure out what was going on. By the way Myungsoo tensed at the question Sunggyu knew he had struck gold.
His perceptiveness had come to play like most times when the group was in trouble. Sunggyu accessed the situation trying to figure out the best way to solve the problem between Sungjong and Myungsoo. “I think you should talk to Sungjong and get things sorted out between you two.”
“I can’t.” Myungsoo repeated. “I just can’t.” He rolled over pulling a pillow over his face again to hide his tears.
“Fine. If you are going to be this way, I guess I have no other choice.”
Myungsoo felt the bed shift as Sunggyu stood to leave. He could hear the faint footsteps over his sobs. But moments later he heard a high-pitched squeal that could have only come from the maknae. The sound grew closer until it entered his room. There was a thud, some scuffling, and the resounding crash of a door slamming. There was some movement outside; it sounded like he was locking the door from the outside.
I shot up to a sitting position and eyed the door in disbelief. Sungjong was sitting on the floor stunned staring at the door as well. He had really locked us in here together.
“Sorry guys!” Sunggyu spoke behind the door. “It was the only thing I could think of. This will give you time to talk and sort things out. I will let you out once you have convinced me everything is fine.”
Sungjong rushed to the door, slamming his fists against it repetitively. “Hyung! Sunggyu hyung! He doesn’t want me in here. Let me out!”
Only silence could be heard on the other side. The guys weren’t letting up about the situation. Myungsoo stared at Sungjong’s small frame struggling at the door. Without saying anything, Myungsoo turned over and pretended to be unaware of the younger male standing awkwardly on the other side of the room.
Sungjong was too afraid to speak to Myungsoo and the elder preferred not to acknowledge the other. He was hoping Sunggyu would come to his senses and open the door freeing them from the prison that is his room.
After some time Myungsoo could hear the soft rumblings of breathing coming from the corner. He hesitantly turned over and glanced towards the door. Sungjong was sitting in the corner with his knees pulled to his chest and his head hanging lopsided as he gently snored. He looked so pitiful huddled in the corner.
Myungsoo debated for a few moments about whether to remain on the bed pretending to sleep or going to move Sungjong. He sighed deeply before getting up and going to Sunjong’s sided. He crouched before the maknae, pushing his hair away from his angelic face before gently picking him up and moving him to the bed. When Myungsoo went to let go of Sungjong, the younger male suddenly pulled him down.
Sungjong had waked up to find himself being carried by Myungsoo and he wasn’t about to let this chance slip away from him. Pretending to be asleep the whole time, Sungjong had devised a plan to get Myungsoo into his clutches. There was something bothering the older male and he wanted to know what it was especially considering how he felt like he was the cause of the problem.
Surprised, Myungsoo pulled back but couldn’t get away. “Sungjong, let go,” he ordered through gritted teeth.
Sungjong only gripped Myungsoo’s neck tighter. “Not until you talk to me.”
“How am I supposed to talk when you are squeezing me so hard?” Myungsoo was hoping this would get Sungjong to let go.
“You can still talk, you are now aren’t you?” Sungjong had a point here.
Myungsoo sighed and stopped trying to pry Sungjong away from him. Instead, he rolled over on the bed and on top of the maknae. Sungjong looked up surprised at his hyung’s actions. “What if I don’t want to talk?”
“But…bu…t…” Sungjong stuttered.
The elder leaned closer to the younger’s face, maintaining a few centimeters distance between them. “What is I would rather take action?”
Myungsoo was past holding in his reserve. He couldn’t take hiding his emotions any further. Sungjong was making things easy for him and he had reached his boiling point.
“What…what do you mean?” Sungjong was confused. Myungsoo was acting even more strange now than he was before.
Closing the last bit of space, Myungsoo lips made contact with Sungjong’s. They both froze for a moment before Myungsoo took charge and began moving his lips against Sungjong’s. The kiss felt exactly how he imagined it, better even. Sungjong’s plush lips parted in a gasp giving Myungsoo enough time to add his tongue to the action.
Sungjong wasn’t sure whether he should like what was happening or not. His lips tingled at Myungsoo’s touch. He could feel hands roaming up his sides to his face and neck. It felt surreal to have Myungsoo attacking him like this. Shock kept him from reacting much.
Myungsoo continued to devour Sungjong lips for a few moments, before moving across the maknae’s cheek and jaw line. Enjoying the shiver that coursed through Sungjong, sending goose bumps across his skin. Myungsoo’s lips worked magic against Sungjong’s neck. He was going to leave a mark on Sungjong’s neck if he didn’t stop soon.
A moan escaped the younger male’s throat. Sungjong bit his lip and shuddered at how amazing it felt to have Myungsoo’s lips savoring his skin in such a sensual manner. “Hyung?” Sungjong gasped, gaining Myungsoo’s attention.
Myungsoo sat up to look down at the writing male beneath him. His lidded eyes and panting breaths were enough to drive Myungsoo crazy. Coming back to his senses, Myungsoo rolled off the maknae and sat on the edge of the bed. He leaned forward, his elbows on his knees with his head resting in his hands.
Sungjong sat up as well trying to catch his breath. Glancing towards Myungsoo confused, he asked, “Hyung? What was that about?”
“You have no idea, do you?” Myungsoo spoke through his hands muffling his voice.
“What are you talking about?” Sungjong asked curiously. He shifted closer to Myungsoo and the side of the bed.
“You have no clue what you do to us, what you do to me.” While speaking the last part, Myungsoo turned to face Sungjong. He placed his hand on Sungjong’s cheek. “You drive me crazy.”
“But…”
“Shhh,” Myungsoo hushed Sungjong by placing his finger on the maknae’s lips. He traced the curve of Sungjong’s lower lip with his thumb. “I’m scared.”
“What are you scared of?” Sungjong whispered.
“Losing you, losing everything we have.”
“And why would that happen?” Sungjong placed his hand on Myungsoo’s cheek while asking the question.
“What if you don’t feel the same way about me?”
Sungjong sighed and shook his head before turning away. He pulled his knees up to his chest and rested his chin on top of them. “I’m sorry,” he whispered.
Myungsoo felt a lump build in his throat. His worst fears are coming true. He could feel the tears welling up in his eyes again.
Sungjong continued speaking, staring at the wall across the room. “I can’t promise you anything. I’ve never thought of you as more than a friend or a brother. So I don’t know how I feel about you.”
Myungsoo looked up hopeful now. Maybe he still had a chance at getting Sungjong to love him. “But that means there is still a chance right?”
Sungjong tilted his head to the side and looked at Myungsoo. He liked the smile playing at his hyung’s lips. It lifted weight off his heart to see Myungsoo happy again. Sungjong realized he was willing to do anything to keep his hyung that way. He smiled back reflexively.
“Do it again.”
“What?” Myungsoo was confused as to what Sungjong was asking him to do.
Sungjong leaned in shyly. “Kiss me. I wasn’t ready last time.”
Myungsoo smirked before capturing Sungjong’s lips with his. This time Sungjong responded to Myungsoo’s actions. Sungjong’s hand laced with the hair at the back of Myungsoo’s neck pulling him closer. Myungsoo smiled at the other’s eagerness this time. He laid back pulling Sungjong down with him. Myungsoo’s hands gripped Sungjong’s waist, keeping him close.
After a while of tongue wrestling, Sungjong placed his hand on Myungsoo’s chest and pulled back inhaling deeply.
“Why did you stop?” Myungsoo whined.
“Because, I can tell you want more,” he panted.
“Oh,” Myungsoo said understanding Sungjong’s worries. “Then I guess we should stop before anything else happens.”
Sungjong grinned before giving Myungsoo a peck on the lips and adjusting himself so that he and Myungsoo were lying on their sides facing each other. He nuzzled his head into Myungsoo’s neck, breathing in the scent of his hyung. He actually liked how Myungsoo smelled with the lingering sent of sweat and deodorant. There was also a hint of cologne Myungsoo had sprayed on himself that morning. Myungsoo’s musky scent urged Sungjong to kiss Myungsoo’s neck. He couldn’t help himself. It was only a few light pecks but it was enough to make Myungsoo nervous.
Sungjong pulled back to face Myungsoo. “Next time, you should just talk to me when you have something on your mind.” He ran his fingers through Myungsoo’s hair. “Even though I like to talk a lot, I am capable of listening to others. Especially you, hyung.”
“I’ll keep that in mind,” Myungsoo whispered pulling Sungjong close. “But right now, I would really like to get some sleep. So if you don’t mind…” Myungsoo ruffled Sungjong’s hair.
Smiling, both guys drifted off to sleep holding onto one another, while their group mates were listening intently on the other side of the door.
“I wonder what’s going on?” Woohyun asked. He had his ear planted to the door but he couldn’t hear anything.
“I hope they made up,” Sunggyu stated.
Sungyeol, who was leaning against Hoya, whispered, “I hope Myung finally tells Jong how he feels. I’m tired of seeing him mope around.”
Hoya nodded in agreement. “Sungjong has no idea, though. Maknae is clueless.”
“C’mon guys, let’s give them some privacy. We can let them out in the morning.” Dongwoo began pushing the other members away from the room. Besides they wouldn’t be able to find anything out until the morning. At least for now everything seems calm and that all the guys could ask for at the moment.
