So I could not resist the temptation to not procrastinate and spent my hard earned money from my part time job to purchase a second-hand PS vita. It wasn't a bad deal since the seller threw in an extra game.
I digress. Anyway I bought my first game Freedom Wars.
It seemed something like monhun3 because of fighting monsters 10x the size of the main character at first glance. (Literally more so since I have only looked at others playing MH3 under a minute since I happened to pass by). It starts with a cutscene which probably lets you feel how awesome your character can get once the level is high enough. With a cliché reason, the MC (main character) gets an amnesia and now has to get back to square one.
A million years in imprisonment. Yes, I have heard this phrase too many times in Gamestart 2014 that I'm sick of it. Let me digress again. Speaking of Gamestart, I have not found anywhere in the game so far that says "Let's contribute!" It was super embarrassing for me to fist punch up in the air several times. /)>///<(\
Anyway, security is so tight, they have assigned accessories to keep watch the MC 24/7.
This guy standing here is an accessory. Did you think that I was referring to an object instead? He/She (well, you can customise it) is more like a cyborg or a robot instead. I wanted to model mine after Prussia(from Hetalia) but with the robotic voiceover he turned out more to be Clear(from DMMD) instead. Also, see those numbers at the top of the character's head? It somehow reminds me of Death Note, just that those are not the numbers to your death, but numbers to stay in prison.
Many stupid rules were also placed, too much that I had the thought of just breaking them all. Like, who cares, rules are meant to be broken anyway. (^з^)-☆♪
This extra 20years came from a why did I do that mutiple choices to a conversation (something like VN) because:
1) I slept lying down
2) I tried to chat with my accessory
This is absolutely a trick question, because my accessory reminded me from the start that I could not lie down, but told me my vital signs were low and I should 1) snooze or 2) I'm fine thanks. Of course I would sleep but no, I got a notice instead =_=
I saw this restriction and tried it out because I was too curious.
Of course, I gained more unnecessary years of imprisonment.
Back to the story, as a Level 1 CODE member, I have very limited actions (even if they have unspoken rule yet discovered, you will end up with more years of imprisonment). It is mostly getting to know how to use your skills and the thorn. I must say, that thorn really feels like SnK's 3dmg. After having the first few missions in a practice room, you will be able to wander around a desert terrain and then a rainy map for the Level 2 CODE test. Not to worry, for you will be accompanied by fellow NPC sinners to take down the Abductors (giant robots that kidnaps civilians. I wonder if there is a reason to that...?)
With the help of the NPCs, you will become a Level 2 CODE sinner! You are finally allowed to wander outside your jail cell.
HOWEVER! Do not forget to use your points before exiting the cell, there are so many restrictions that might cause severe annoyance to yourself.
Look at this, I wanted to take a picture of this trick question, and I ended up getting a violation again.
After progressing to Level 2 CODE and be able to roam about, my PS vita battery decides to die out soon. So, these are my first thoughts for Freedom Wars.
EXTRA:
Here's some of what knowledge I have gained when roaming around.
1) Geez thanks, you could have told me earlier when I wanted to take a pic of the trick question (mentioned earlier).
2) I got the 100-year sentence, then I got a caution from this NPC nearby. How stupid can I get orz
That's it, I guess. Here are my final thoughts: a very interesting game! Maybe I should continue on to uncover the secret behind the immediate sentence of 1mil years of imprisonment just by being born on earth ._.
Also, should I cover the rest of the levels? According to one of the NPCs, there are 8 levels in total. Do comment, even it you are a lurker!
Till we meet again,
Leekhim (^_−)~☆
